[展覧会概要]
「記憶」とは何か。大正13年に建てられ、上流花街の面影を色濃く残す旧川本邸を舞台に、4名の作家がこの大きなテーマに挑みます。過去・現在・未来、または自己と他者との「記憶の隙間」。アプローチの異なる4名が見せる「記憶の隙間」は、来場者が持つ様々な記憶に揺さぶりをかけ、「記憶」とは何かを問いかけます。

Hanarart “Memory Fragment— Chasing Recollection” at Former Kawamoto House
[Outline of exhibition]
What is memory? Four artists tackle this enormous theme at the Former Kawamoto House, a wooden structure built in 1924 that retains its unique appearance as a residence of Upper-Hanamachi, a traditional geisha district. Exploring the interstices between the past, present, and future, as well a oneself and others, each artist takes a different approach to “the places in between memories,” stirring the viewer’s own diverse recollections.

Extended hours for night viewings until 19:00 on Nov. 8 (Sat) and Nov. 15 (Sat).
This exhibition is on the main grounds of Art Festival Hanarart.
